Tagetes erecta – Marigold
The colour pigment is derived from the flower(petals) of Marigold plant. It is commonly found in India – West Bengal, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Around 40% of the total flowers in India are wasted every day. These flowers are thrown in the water of the Ganga river or any other place which creates water pollution. It can be used for dyeing textiles.
It gives a great shade of yellow, orange and brown colour.
